  • Chronological resume (resume must reflect all periods of work, non-work, college attendance, etc)
     
  • College/University Placement File or three (3) recent letters of reference

The Antelope Valley Union High School District is geographically Los Angeles County ’s largest school district extending from San Bernardino County on the east to Ventura County on the west, to Kern County on the north and the San Gabriel mountains on the south.  The District dates to 1912 when thirteen elementary districts unionized to provide a high school. The District serves the educational needs of 9th through 12th grade students residing in approximately 1700 square miles or 45% of the total Los Angeles County area.

 

 

The total certificated and classified staff numbers over 2000 employees, and the district is the 4 th largest employer in the Antelope Valley . The Board of Trustees ensures equal opportunities for employees and students in all aspects of our educational program. In cluded in the District’s 25,000 students is a rich blend of minority students representing dozens of heritages.  


The District’s total budget is over $165,000,000. AVUHSD currently operates eight comprehensive high schools. The eighth comprehensive high school, Eastside High School , opened in 2005.  Modernization of our schools is underway and plans are in place for three new comprehensive high schools in the next few years. 

 

The District also operates three continuation schools, an adult school Program, and a Community Day School program.  The District provides a comprehensive educational program covering academic and vocational areas including an extensive Independent Study Program and a single district Regional Occupational Program.
