In accordance with Education Code and District Policy, no person shall be employed or continue to render services to students without a valid Mantoux Tuberculin Skin Test. The test is valid for four (4) years. Records in the Personnel Office indicate your Tuberculin Test has expired or is about to expire. Failure to comply in this regard may result in withholding of subsequent pay warrants by the Los Angeles County Office of Education.
You are encouraged to set a convenient appointment time with your regular physician and insurance provider. For those without insurance, the Mantoux skin test can be administered for free by the Los Angeles County Health Department. Los Angeles County Health Department. The Health Department is located at 335 East Avenue K-6 (Building B) in Lancaster (cross street is Division). Testing is available Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
If you do not utilize the above options, you may contact the Personnel Office to discuss other options or email klindaman@avhsd.org.
All TB Tests require two (2) separate actions, first having the skin test administered and then having it read on a subsequent visit within 48-72 hours. Missing either action constitutes non-compliance, and unfortunately will result in the health provider being unable to read your test.
