This is a list of Educational Technology Resources available to staff and faculty of the AVUHSD.
As with all publicly accessible services, please make sure that the content that you load on to these servers meets District standards. Anything that you make publicly available will be scanned by search engines and could prove quite embarrassing and possibly result in disciplinary action. If you have questions about what is ok to post publicly, please contact your site's Administrative team. If you have technical questions about whether your actions will make something you post public, contact your local site technicians. |
AUC Servers
Available at every site except ROP. Phoenix campuses use DWHS/RRP, Adult Ed uses DWHS. Contact your local site technicians for access and class setup.
Primary Use: Student file storage. Can also be used to do limited online courses.
Moodle Online Course Server
Available throughout the District. Signup is handled automatically through the Login page on the Moodle site for both teachers and students.
Teachers can request course(s) by contacting Dan Stewart at the District Office.
Primary Use: Online classes. Moodle offers features that allow complete online classes, or can be used to do a hybrid live/online class. Information about what the Moodle system offers can be found here: http://docs.moodle.org/en/Main_Page

Available throughout the District to staff/faculty only. No logins provided for students. To signup for access to Google Apps, contact your local site Network Tech.
Primary Uses:
Google Calendar: Can be used to create shared and public calendars for site, department, and classroom use.
Google Video: Still in testing phase, but is designed to provide a "Youtube" like video interface available only to accounts in our Google Apps system.
Google Docs: Online versions of word processor, spreadsheet, presentations, and more, along with the ability to share documents with people inside and outside the District.
Google Sites: Allows easy creation of websites for site, department or classroom use. Google Sites has "built-in" editing options, which makes it easier to use. There are also many add-on's and plugins available as well.
Google Wave: (in beta, but still useable) A website collaboration tool that allows you to integrate posts, conversations, documents, and more. For more info, click here.
